Our Lughnasadh Ritual 2010

Our Lughnasadh Ritual Celebration and Pot Luck will be Sunday, August 1st at 4pm at the Fae Ponds in Lithia Park. This is a pot luck – so bring food and a place setting for each family member. Also, if you like, bring a sacred item to place on the alter to be charged with the wonderful energy of Lughnasadh. Call us if you have questions 488-5361.

About Pot Lucks

People often ask if we are having a pot luck at this event or ritual, the answer is always – Yes. Every event or ritual with our coven is a pot luck except Magic School. But here is something to keep in mind – we don’t want you to be stressed out about bringing food to rituals and meetings – if you can and it’s convenient for you then do so – if not, then don’t. And if you want to bring something to the pot luck, but feel that your cooking is uneatable – then grab a bag of cookies or chips from the market before you come to a meeting.

We have pot lucks because we believe that eating together is a sacred act – particularly from a Pagan perspective – since we are ultimately aware of the fact that our great Earth Mother provides and cares for us by providing food – eating is a form of worship and spiritual practice as well as a way for our awesome Pagan community to get to spend time together as a family.

Rowan Tree Coven will no longer be providing paper and plastic supplies at community pot lucks (being the Earth conscious organization that we are:) Instead we ask that you bring a place setting of one plate (per family member) and forks, knives and spoons for each. As folks are donating place settings to the coven we will soon have enough for each person to use, until then please bring your own.
